Unbound Will Offer Information on Unique Opportunities to Live out the Gospel Call to Serve the Poor as Part of the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress Feb. 26-28 in Anaheim, Calif.
KANSAS CITY, KS --(Marketwired - February 25, 2016) - Unbound will host booth 643 at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress (LAREC) Feb. 26-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
Unbound is an international nonprofit founded by lay Catholics and walking in solidarity with more than 300,000 children, elders and their families in 20 countries. Unbound provides Catholic families and students in the U.S. an opportunity to put their faith into action through one-to-one sponsorship.
Why should you stop by booth 643 at LAREC? Unbound will have information on sponsorship, fundraising ideas for church youth groups, and stories for journalists about individual Catholics who are doing great things in the world through their sponsorship support.
Putting your faith in action
Unbound offers a practical way to live out the call to mercy, which Pope Francis has said is "the beating heart of the Gospel." Unbound sponsorship gives people of goodwill an opportunity to offer a hand up -- not a handout -- in a direct, personal way to someone who needs it. Unbound staff members will have information on hand about children and elders in need of a sponsor.
Fundraising idea for youth groups
"Raise Funds. Raise Hope" helps U.S. church youth groups raise money by finding sponsors for children and elders waiting for sponsorship through Unbound. For every sponsor who signs up, the group earns money to support its local programs.
Compelling stories for journalists
Journalists interested in issues ranging from Pope Francis' call to serve the poor, to his encyclical on climate change and how it affects families in developing countries, to the radicalization of teenagers in Africa and "border kids" crossing into the United States will find authentic stories of hope among Unbound families. Unbound has sponsors in every state in the U.S. who can provide local perspectives on partnering with families to break free from poverty.
Unbound offers a number of ways to get involved as an individual or group. In addition to finding information on these opportunities, visitors to the booth can enter to win a one-of-a-kind Unbound prize pack that includes: Rise and Dream, Unbound's documentary filmed in Zamboanga, Philippines; Guatemalan coffee and an Unbound mug; Voices of Unbound: Madagascar CD; a handmade bracelet crafted by a family in the sponsorship program and more!
